In today’s “Daily Mail” there is a brief mention (in a column) of Colin Firth being offered the role of Captain David Hart- Dyke, commander of HMS Coventry, in a new production. No other details are given but I presume it is a film adaptation of Hart – Dyke’s own book “Four Weeks in May.”
By coincidence Colin Firth appeared in another (BBC) film about the conflict,”Tumbledown”
If the film goes ahead I wonder if they will use any real A-4 Skyhawks – and of course the Indian Navy still has some Sea Harriers. I think the Royal Navy still has some Type 42 destroyers though they are all due to be scrapped soon. Anyone know any more about this project?

Yes that is true – but two films in the same year – perhaps the notorious Mail has got its knickers in the proverbial twist…;) We will look out for more news..

Are you sure this is the same film? The bit in the “Daily Mail” said it was about Captain David Hart-Dyke and “HMS Coventry” . I think we are talking about two different productions.

It sounds like a very focussed story on the problems of PTSD suffered by soldiers after the war, rather than a film about the conflict itself.

I’d imagine they would be more likely to use CGI
