New Forum – Reduced storage space for images

Discussion,

I have just tried to post a photographic image and been notified that:-

“You are currently using 28.75 MB to store 660 uploaded attachments”.

That is about 43Kb per image.

It would appear that I am 20 fold over the limit which seems to be 1Mb per person.

The historian in me says if I and others delete most of those images, the value of this archive as a research tool for the future is somewhat diminished.

Any comments?

Webmaster?

If you need to raise a few quid to reach that “beyond” status webbie, then I’ll happily oblige. 🙂

Thanks Ren Frew,

I’ll keep that in mind next time we go over our bandwidth quota.

Extra posts are on Ren Frew! ( Milky Bar Kid style 😀 )

Thank you.

Webbie: Does this mean that the pics I had to delete in order for the new ones to appear, when the limit was on earlier today, have actually vanished from the original threads too?

Quite possibly

INFINITY!

shouldn’t that read available disk space? unless you know something that you’d like to pass on to fellow IT manglers 🙂

Limit has been increased to…….

INFINITY!

It was never intended to limit the attachments, an option had been missed thats all.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Please do!

While I appreciate that the forum is a great thing for no payment (and I presume not insignificant costs) I absolutely agree with the previous posts – the value of the forum and an ‘edge’ it has over many of its competators is the oportunity to post and view pics…

Cheers

I’m looking into increasing the limit.
