Greetings!
I’m a long time lurker on this forum and registered a while ago; however, this is my first post. I thought I’d give everyone the heads-up on a new Freeview channel, Films For Men (or films4men) that’s just launched on channel 48 (well it’s 48 on my listing). No: it’s not as smutty as it sounds!
It seems to be back-to-back war films and military documentaries, many of which are aviation themed. I’ve done a quick trawl through the listings and set up to record ‘The War in the Air’, documentaries on the Hawkers Hunter and Hurricane, the Red Arrows, a doc on the development of the Avro Shackleton and sundry other interesting stuff.
There’s a fair sprinkling of naval stuff if you’re that way inclined. Stuff on the Battle of the Atlantic, history of the Kriegsmarine, submarine warfare and such. Many WW2 themed films that I’m not familiar with and a whole John Wayne-fest including westerns.
It’s entirely possible that this is old news and I’m just being a big kid, but as my wife is bored rigid by my televisual tastes and my mountain of DVD’s – and I work in a girls’ school – I wanted to share my excitement with some like-minded blokes (no sexism intended)!
Regards
Dave

Yes, this has been on FREESAT for a while along with a +1. I always seem to miss the start of things on there for some reason.
