For anyone who owns a Sony PlayStation 2 console I have some good news for you. The video game company called Konami has recently put out a new flight combat game (read flight combat arcade game and not flight combat SIM game) entitled Air Force Delta Strike.
It’s the latest in a series of games with the Air Force Delta franchise name (including Air Force Delta on Nintendo Game Boy Color & Sega Dreamcast, Air Force Delta Storm on Microsoft Xbox, and Air Force Delta Storm on Nintendo Game Boy Advance).
I thought I’d mention it to the fine people on this board because I know we have a lot of realism nuts, and (let me explain) there is a really cool aspect of this game that’s realistic. The number of aircraft in this game is sheer madness. Not since Jane’s Fighters Anthology for the PC has a game included so many different types of aircraft (Il-2 probably comes close though). This is a first for a console game though.
As far as flight physics and stuff, it’s all very basic because its intended as an arcade shooter with some flight sim elements.
The interesting thing is that all the aircraft are modelled accurately, even down to the weapons you see them fire.
I’m going to post a list below of all the flyable aircraft (as well as the AI aircraft) included in the game.
About 99 percent of it seems to be pretty accurate with a few exceptions.
Here it goes: (Art I think you’ll like the list because it’s very broad for the most part and there’s a huge array of Soviet aircraft)
(This is how the aircraft are numbered in the game….the numbers don’t really have any significance.)
1. F-5E Tiger II
2. MiG-21bis “Fishbed-N”
3. Su-20 “Fitter-C”
4. X-29A

7. YF-17 Cobra
8. F-2A
9. MiG-1.44 MFI
10. X-32A
11. S-55 LFS (background on this one would be nice too….I seem to remember it being some sort of lightweight Su-27 variant or something….)

14. Su-17M “Fitter-D”
15. Su-24M “Fencer-D”
16. F5D-1 Skylancer

26. YF-23A Black Widow II
27. J-11 Flanker
28. F-102A Delta Dagger
29. Su-7BM bis (that’s how it’s designated in the game, but I believe it should either just be simply Su-7BM or Su-7BMK)
30. F-106A Delta Dart
31. F-4E Phantom II (do you think I would have picked this game up without it? 🙂 )
32. FC-1
33. MiG-23ML “Flogger-G”
34. MiG-33 “Fulcrum”
35. X-31A
36. F-16C Fighting Falcon (Block 50)

57. MiG-31BM “Foxhound”
58. Su-37 Super Flanker

75. Su-22M-4 “Fitter-K”
76. F-105D Thunderchief

80. F-117A Nighthawk
81. Jaguar GR.1
82. F-16XL
83. Tornado GR.1
84. F-15U Plus (can someone tell me is this was some design concept?…it appears to be an F-15 without the horizontal stabilizers and with the wings moved to the rear giving it a more traditional tailless delta shape……kinda analogous to the regular F-15 in the way that the X-44 design is the F/A-22 if that makes any sense)
85. X-44 (tailless delta-winged F/A-22 derivative….at least it looks kinda similar to me)
86. F-101B Voodoo
87. A-7E Corsair II
88. A-4M Skyhawk
89. Buccaneer S.2D (game says S.2D, but I’d guess it’s supposed to be S.2B as I’ve never heard of the S.2D)

97. Su-32FN (same question as that about the Su-34)
98. Tornado F.3
99. Su-33 “Flanker-D”
100. J-10
101. I-2000 LFS (same question as I asked about the S-55……was this some kinda MiG-29 derivative or perhaps something akin to the PAK-FA?)
102. X-36 (see comment about HiMAT)
103. Bird of Prey (see comment about HiMAT & X-36)
Well those are all the flyable aircraft that actually exist in some form (whether on paper or they actually flew).
The remaining 14 aircraft are various spacecraft and stuff from some of Konami’s older games).
The final set of aircraft is real aircraft that appear in the game, but aren’t flyable. Some you encounter as enemies, and some as friends.
118. RF-4C Phantom II 🙂
119. P-3C Orion
120. SH-3H Sea King

Hope you guys enjoy reading the list.
You can pick up the game for around 40 US dollars, and it’s compatible of the Logitech Flight Force joystick if you so desire.
There is also Remote play apk for PS4 users in android.
