I drove past North Weald today and there is a very nice full size copy of a Hurricane up on a pole with the wings banked at about 30 degrees. Looks really super, just behind the main gate. 😀 Sorry didn’t have a camera with me, but I know it wasn’t there last week.
Is it temporary or a long term display ?

Thanks for posting the pic of our pairs run and break to land. It was very hazy today so not ideal for air to airs. One taken by my navigator Ian before we got to the Initial Point for the flypast. It was his first formation flight so he was more interested in what was going on than taking pictures! The black and yellow Bulldog was the missing man.

YakRider. What supurb photos ! The best I can do for you, and your team of today, is this humble effort ! Too much sky and not enough aircraft ? But thank you very much for the display.
Keith.

At the going down of the sun. And in the morning. We will remember them.

Certainly a great day and nice to see so many veterans in attendance. I was leading the Bulldog Missing Man Formation.

Have had a very pleasant day at NW, The ceremony was very well attended, and very well organised, in my opinion !
A few of the 440 photos taken today, I had a virtual free hand to wander arond with my camera, will start a thread for aircraft photos later !
Meanwhile a few from the main event ….

Enjoy …. Keith.

Any more news on the dedication ceremony this Sunday?
Still going ahead as planned. The official dedication ceremony starts at 11:30 am.
Here’s a shot of the replica taken Friday morning by Winston Ramsey.

The formal dedication ceremony is on Sunday 19 April, mid-morning. We hope to have some aircraft doing flypasts to mark the event. Sadly the home-based Hurricane, which was to be the star, is currently without an engine.

Sorry above link does not work, this one should – http://www.eppingforestdc.gov.uk/news/2008/Hurricane_Returns_to_Airfield.asp
From above site – Standard Bearers and Pipers provide the backdrop to the ceremony as Wing Commander Tom ‘Ginger’ Neil who flew the real aircraft from North Weald on which the replica is based, unveiled a commemoration plaque before crowds of onlookers. A Spitfire and Hurricane of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flew past.

Yep, Thats the one, now up on a pole. Not had the Cockpit canopy fitted yet either when I saw it 😎
Is it a copy of one used by a famous pilot at NW ?
