Rod Lewis’ Mosquito FB.VI PZ474/NZ2384 may have been mentioned earlier, it’s with Avpecs here in New Zealand and today had landing gear and bomb bay door retraction tests.

Unless I’ve missed it no one seems to have mentioned the ARCO Lysander which I should think must be imminent.

Hurricanes undergoing restoration to fly at this time include:
V7497 at Hawker Restorations (very near completion)
RCAF 323 at Hawker Restorations
Z5207 at Kaelin Aero Technologies in Germany
AM274 at FAST Aero in Belgium (project sold/imported from the US several years ago, but work on continuing the restoration forward to completion reportedly only just commenced earlier this year)
RCAF 5708 at Ray Middleton’s shop in Colorado, USA (former Lone Star Flight Museum example, and is set to be completed/flying next year – the aircraft is now owned by the Dakota Territory Air Museum (previously Texas Flying Legends))
RCAF 5447 at Vintage Wings of Canada

For those of you not familiar with and/or cannot be bothered to look up G-INFO, the aircraft referred to in “civil aero’s” post are a Puss Moth, SE5 replica, Tiger Moth and Super Cub respectively. A fairly eclectic group and I’m looking forward to seeing the Puss Moth especially.

Well the Paul Allen/FHCAM Stuka restoration was first reported in the “Classic Wings” magazine over 11 years ago now. The FHCAM Stuka restoration is also part of the reason why the Chicago Science Museum Stuka was lowered to the floor and completely 3d-scanned a few years back (it is the same exact variant as the one Paul Allen/FHCAM own). One of the Jumo engines at Vintage V-12’s is known to be specific for a Stuka, and the Paul Allen/FHCAM example is the only one being restored at this time to fly (they’re also the only museum/collection with such tight non-disclosure agreements that nothing could be “revealed” in the Kermit Weeks Vintage V-12’s visit…but which as a result clearly reveals the intended project anyway). Do I expect to see it flying next year? No, but other than a few rumors and whisperings here and there, nothing was really known of/reported on the Allen/FHCAM Il-2 until suddenly the day it was first reported to have flown. All we can do is wait and see.
The Paul Allen/FHCAM P-38J under restoration at Westpac (which isn’t supposed to be photographed, but can be viewed when visiting Westpac) is looking very much like a complete aircraft this past year (much like the P-38F “White 33” did within about a year of it flying), and it wouldn’t be hard to imagine it being completed in the not too distant future. The Allen/FHCAM Me-262 was already rumored to be near completion, waiting on engines, in 2015. That project is well documented in a Cory Graff book titled Flying Warbirds, about the Paul Allen/FHCAM collection, which was published in 2014, with a number of photos of the very complete, restored, airframe sitting on its landing gear (at the time the book was published, it was thought that the Me-262 would be completed/flying in 2015, but word on the street is that the work and testing on the engines, being done in Stockton, CA, has taken longer than was initially expected). Currently there is yet another hangar being built at FHCAM this winter to house more warbird additions. The Allen/FHCAM Corsair had been off the radar for 15+ years, in periods of storage/restoration at different places until it suddenly reemerged earlier this past year at Ezell Aviation and soon completed. So of course there is no telling what will emerge, when, but there are a lot of projects out there and only a matter of time before we get to see the end results, and as another year passes, a perhaps whishful look at what the new year might bring forth.

Long way off yet ?

Of course, I think we have the same sources. But as this thread is called “Historics flying 2018” I really doubt that one of the mentioned Allen projects will fly next year, or even within the next five years. That was the reason I asked how somebody is getting those “precise” informations.

As regards the Reid & Sigrist RS4 Desford as mentioned earlier in this thread…
Hadn’t flown as of Sunday when I visited the airfield. As for the open-day type thing, the link in my signature should help with that (and hopefully that’s vague enough not to incur the wrath of the moderating team for “advertising”!)

My info only comes from what I glean from Facebook, magazines, and forums like this and WIX.
