Lucky catch by me in uncharacteristically dull conditions at San Bernardino mid-last month and just off on a test flight (two 747-8Fs were out-based at San Bernardino – the former Norton AFB – near Los Angeles in California during February for test flying as Boing is “full up” with 787s at present), this will soon be the new kid on the block on cargo ramps around the world’s airports:

Looks quite graceful actually

PMN – it does look longer than the 744
The three for GSS (at least two already outside at Everett) will be operated in British Airways World Cargo colours rather than GSS colours.

😀
Yes Paul, you are indeed right, it is 3. They are unsure yet as to whether they will be direct replacements for their 744s or a couple of surplus.

Global Supply Systems are due for three of them which will be G-GSSD, G-GSSE and G-GSSF. Can’t wait to see them!

A couple of the first ones out the factory are going to Global Supply Systems I am led to believe. Nearly got a job with them on that bird 6 weeks ago eek!!
Looks a beautiful aircraft that’s for sure. The Divorce Machines we call them 😉

Very nice catch indeed! Does it give the impression of being much bigger than any other 747 when you see it ‘in the flesh’?
