New long haul, charter airline in Spain

The big and powerful Spanish travel group Pullmatur is about to launch his new airline “Pullmantur Air”, after the Pullmantur Cruises had purchased the former “Love Boat” Pacific Princess. The ship will be based in La Romana (DOminican Republic) and will offer weekly cruises. The airline will carry passengers from Madrid but also to all the hotels the travel group owns there. As you know DOminican Repulic and Cuba are the favourite destinations for Spanish sun seakers, being the first nationality in number of visitors. The airline will operate B747-300 (probably from Air Atlanta, Iberia. This later one is trying to replace its B747-300/200 with leased B747-400, while they decide which long haul aircraft should be incorporated). The prices of cruise+flight will start from 799 euros, and the airline will operate in a high density configuration and low cost basis. Of course, prices will drop since Iberia, Air Europa and Iberworld with incredibly low fares for the route will answer to this fares. I find it an stupid decission. I remember Carnival Airlines (part of Carnival Cruises) tried to do the same and went out of business soon. In any case, I´ll have my card ready for reservations and offers.
