New Longhaul for Stansted

Not sure if today was the first flight, but it was the first one I’ve seen.

The BBC being the main television and radio corporation in the UK (The country of the Union Jack) broadcasting news, information and enterntainment to a nationwide audience.

I think they would know what the most universally used term is (and the fact they’ve chosen to omit one speaks for itself.).

Happy answer? Good. Now what was the original topic about? 😮

Well I’ve been watching the BBC all evening and havn’t seen a Union Jack displayed or mentioned anywhere!;) Anyway back on topic…

Cheers, Huw:)

“Union Jack” is the unviersally recognised term. It may not be a correct description of the flag (A Jack is a flag flown on the bow of a ship, hence though, the name caught on from Britannia’s vast naval power.), it is however the name that the BBC chooses to use to avoid confusion. Due to the name “Union Flag” not being unviersally recognised.

Bit of History for you. 😀

Where does the BBC fit into this??!!

I know, very neat. 😉 But on the other side it’s the Malaysian flag. Interesting ideas the folks at Air Asia X have….

Nice shot, but it seems a bit of a weird choice of south-east airport for them to fly into.

Well, the CEO of Air Asia X said that because the airline is a low cost airline (I’ve searched their fares and I don’t agree! ), that he wanted passengers to be able to reach more than just London by connecting with Ryanair or EasyJet, who both have very large hubs at the airport.
