Gentlefolk,
Just to let you know the new-look UKAR is up and running. Reviews and piccies abound.
Wipe your feet on the mat, and have a good nosey around…
Best regards.

Chicken bu**ery aside……….
working 8000 miles away from home over the last few months, and missing the bulk of the aviation season, I regularly use KEY and UKAR, the more the better (merrier?) I say.

Good comparason for Old Rhinbeck. Actually, it was given the prefix ‘Old…’ after ‘Old Warden’ by the man who made it all happen, the late, great Cole Palen; who brought the Old Warden style charm to the US and gave it a sprinkling of US style barnstorming and showmanship; giving one of the greatest places around.
One of the shrinking list of ‘essential’ places I’ve yet to go, and I’ve never heard anything but the highest praise. Hmmm. Back across the Atlantic, south to NY… It’s a thought.
Cheers

I have to say its very hypocritical of UKAR to announce the new update here.
I quote from a recent post on their forum
“The flypast forum are a bunch of prats”
Also had a nice e-mail from one of their members “The flypast forum is just a kids playground oh sorry you spend plenty of time using that site”
Sorry if I disagree with you, but I guess that´s really unfair, on a forum that has 900+ members, to use one or two references to denigrate all the members that post there. If we really considered this forum to be what you mentioned, we´d never bother to browse its pages and read its threads, and much less to announce the new UKAR here. If we´re here spreading the news, it´s because we´re looking very much forward to having you there with us, commenting and criticizing our reports when you feel it´s necessary.
I can only speak for myself, of course (although I believe that´s the general feeling there), but I will welcome any and all Key members who choose to be part of our forum, and read our reports on the new UKAR website. There´s no point in pointing fingers to each other – we all love aviation, and that should be enough for most of us to treat each other in a respectful manner.
Some of you probably already know that I´m brazilian, and still live in Brazil. Despite living thousands of miles away from anybody else, and speaking a different language, I was never discriminated there. It was quite the opposite – I was always treated very nicely, as if we were mates for a long time. If I learned one thing using UKAR, it´s that everyone´s got a chance there to be part of the family – it´s up to you if you want to or not.
BTW, I´ll have my full Old Rhinebeck report with pics posted there in about a week. For all those who like antique airplanes, Old Rhinebeck is like heaven – a wonderful place, very much like OW in the UK.
God bless you all. 🙂

Mike – which Photocall?
Robbo and Nick – thanks for the offer, but we’ve got OW covered I think.

Andrewman…ever heard of letting bygones be bygones?
Now can we just let this rest please?

I have edited my post here as the one I made earlier was a bit over the top.

Still an ongoing project, but those of us involved are very happy with the look and feel of it so far!
Indeed we are. Still got alot of ideas being developed and some new things in the pipeline, so it’ll get bigger and better with time.
Keep checking the site in the coming days and weeks as new bits, features, reports etc begin to appear. 🙂

The new site looks good Dan, good work 🙂

And the very best of luck to one and all.
I have tried to log in and have a look but I appear to be in the Chicken Buggery club whatever that is. Any chance of letting me see the forums and maybe contribute a bit?
