At Farnborough, Lt Colonel Timo Heimbach, the flying group commander of JBG31 mentioned that his unit would be known as Tactical Air Force Wing 31 from October. He used the English terms, and intimated that this was part of a wider wing redesignation exercice. Later in the conversation he referred to the initial Typhoon-equipped element of ‘Richthofen’ as Tactical Air Force Group 71.
