Hi
My main interests a RN aviation, WW1 and WW2 military aviation in general. I have a weakness for seaplanes , flyingboats, Mosquitos ( oh and P38 Lightnings) RN prop aircraft, Wasp helicopters and any weird, prop, military aircraft that shouldn’t be capable of flight: strange is good!

Then you must like the XP-54, XP-55, and especially the XP-56.
Oh yes, pushers are good – I’m quite taken by the Pemberton-Biling PB.25. The RNAS liked them so much they ordered 20; but didn’t kept them for long replacing them something called a Sopwith.

Thanks for the welcome Peter and Evalu8ter
Wokkas are definitely on my weird list , we sometimes get them flying over our house; but not often enough.
Moggy on a maritime history site I’m a member of some one asked for recommendations for ‘primers’ – key texts covering core subject areas. My bookcase has quite a few core / must have books on warships based on recommendations. I have a few aviation books – mainly naval (no surprise) And:
Aircraft of WW 1 + 2 – Munson
British Military Aircraft Serials 1912-1962 – Robertson
British Naval Aircraft Since 1912 -Thetford
Recent purchases – as yet unread
Mosquito – Birtles
Mosquito Sweetman/Watanabe
Luftwaffe X-Planes -Griehl
Night Fighter – Gunson
Putnam’s Aircraft of the Second World War – Jarret
What do member think of a must have thread?

If you care to step into the bear pit that is “General Discussion” there is a “What book are you reading” thread. But this is fairly wide ranging.
If you are more concerned with aviation literature then there are threads from time to time. The search facility works pretty well now, but they maybe will be difficult to seek out. You could possibly start a new thread of your own.

As an ex-CH47 pilot we seem to have a lot in common…..
Welcome!
