Here’s a freshly painted Monarch 757 at Glasgow just the other day. I must say I like the new look a lot.

I’ve already got a 35mm SLR and a sh*t load of negs from years gone by I’d like to use. Besides digi SLR’s don’t look all that good in my opinion, unless you spend an absolute fortune which I couldn’t really justify as a hobby photographer.
I’ve got a little Canon happy snapper digital which is very good for £200, Some of my professional colleagues use digital SLR’s, mainly for quick zapping of shots to newspapers of late night European football matches. Good for that kind of thing but just not as nice as good old fashioned film.

Ren – Why not go for a digital SLR camera instead of neg scanner?

agree A330Crazy on ALL comments – i miss the BY c/s, but i’m 99.99% cert that my B762s aren’t going to be repainted!
Alos agree on the MON front – we hardly ever get MON movements at EGNM – they used to do the Transun day trips, but these are now operated by Astreus
Incidently G-MONE was the first Monarch a/c in the new c/s due to i been in a white c/s the season before after operating for Rennasance Vacations in the winter of 2000/1 i think!

Love these new colours.
Would love to see more Monarch activity here in the N/East, either at LBA, MME or NCL but alas nothing.
Other than a Monday LPA flight from MME and I think an Alicante flight into NCL, we see nothing here which is such a shame.
Who are Monarch charter airlines for now? They seem to charter for several companies rather than one main one if I remember right??

Fred Seggie is arguably GLA’s most ardent photographer and a huge contributor to Airliners.net.
Looking at his latest contributions he seems to have captured a “fashion show” of all the new charter liveries in one day at GLA at the weekend.
I’m saving uo for a 400mm lens and a decent neg scanner now !

I think out of all (except TC) the charter airline, monarch has the best new colour scheme. My Travel aint bad, buts its no Airtours, Britannia, sadly now lost the British Look, Air 2000, a slight improvement, but somewhat a little more dull than the previous scheme. The Thomas Cook scheme, is a vast improvement, but Im still sorry to say I will miss the JMC LIME GREEN tails! 🙁
But Monarch went from the dull black and yellow cheatlines to something more bright and uplifting. I saw a Monarch A321 at LGW when I went there the other week, I was so pleased to it. First time that I had seen one in the new livery.
Can’t wiat for the Monarch A330’s to be painted up in the great colour!
Thanks for the pic Ren, its a nice one! 🙂
