RE: How about a more helpful title for your posts?

Hi Michelle

A date and location would good too, I assume you live in California as most shot appear to be from Chino. Are you going to Edwards AFB Open House this weekend? I’ve been there before and they normal have a good warbird show, also check out the museum if its open, with the current levels of security I understand its been closed for some time ?

Good Photos, are scanned prints or slides, or do you use a digital camera.

Michelle,

I enjoy your pictures, but wouldn’t it be better if the title could be more descriptive of what we are about to see rather than being ‘New Pic’ every time?

Please?

RE: New Pic

Michelle,
Pima has warbirds, and freighters and tankers and helis even a few different versions of AirForce 1, and just about every jet fighter that flew for the US. Warbirds??? They’ve got them!!!
You can get a tour of of The Davis-Monthan AFB storage and scrapyard
see hundreds of everything, even the odd Luftwaffe Tornado.
If you get a chance to go to Tucson AZ, you won’t be sorry.

RE: New Pic

That beautiful F7F belongs to Richard Bertea and it seems to live at the museum at Chino. And it is really a pretty airplane!!

RE: New Pic

Thanks Michelle I think the P-39 you refer to being restored is the TFC one (It has been a long time!)
By the way the picture is not a P-39 but a very nice F7F Tigercat.Do you know who it belongs to ?

RE: New Pic

Glacier Girl certainly looks the business,I look forward to seeing her fly again. How about bringing her over for flying Legends next year?? 🙂
Whilst on the subject of the other Lightnings left behind in Greenland, there’s no garauntee that they would be in as good condition as Glacier Gal was.The glacial ice sheets constantly shift, and this can mean firstly that the machines drift literally miles away from where they are recorded as being buried, and secondly that the movement of the ice can crush and twist the airframes quite considerably. This was found to be the case with the two B17’s that were discovered, and only some internal fittings etc were recovered from these. So all in all,any further recovery attempts would most likely not find anything that would be worthy of the money and effort that would have to go into the project.
