Was sitting in PHX arrivals, when my Bro texted the news!!
Nearly got a heart attack lol!
Fantastic news indeed, tho with so many services to NYC from MAN, they will have to be good to last!
757 tho is an excellent choice

What fantastic news for Liverpool. You have to admire FlyGlobespan and the expansion they are making, you would expect Jet2 to start similar long haul expansion really, them and GSM seem very ambitious low cost carriers.

Hopefully it should be well received, there are quite a few U.S tourists who visit Liverpool, New York and Liverpool have always had quite a strong affinity with one another.

Does anyone know where/when Globespans 757’s are coming from and presumably they’ll be of the ETOPS variety ?

The European Union bit you touched on… I think the aviation industry will be rocked sooner or later if expansion carries on the way it is. I don’t think governments are doing enough to push for better, more fuel efficient aircraft. The odd 10 or 15% fuel saving here and there, isn’t enough and if the likes of the European Union catch on, we’ll all be paying through the nose to fly.

It will be interesting to see how this effects CO’s Manchester services! Good luck to them.
Just one other thought, I wonder what would happen to Liverpool Airport if the bottom fell out of low cost air travel? I can see an extra tax being bumped on this soon by the European Union following the warnings on global warming. LPL certainly seem to have aligned themselved with this type of business. At least LBA has more of a mix of scheduled, low cost and good old fashioned charter services.

What the hell!? that is something, go LPL and GSM :D.

Well GSM have sprung a few surprises on us in the past, but this definitely takes the biscuit!! Next summer is going to be massive for them, and I’d expected plenty more big surprises from them between now and then!
Just reading that press release though, if it’s right, 22 biz class seats on a 189 seater B752. Sounds like eco is going to be a bit cramped… Although I suppose 30″ seat pitch would be in line with what they are offering on GLA-SFB?
Talk about ambitious! Go GSM!

Time LBA now had an American route, and not forgetting NCL.

Wish them all the best!

Good luck to them 🙂
