I hate these big greenhouse like terminals that are being built all over the place. Its not just Britain but even some of the holiday airports like Alicante and Tenerife are home to these architectural disasters with no character or individuality. I prefered a lot of these airports when they were dingy shed like buildings, a real experience. Now they are all the same!

You would love Goa ‘airport’ danairboy. The most shocking thing I’ve ever seen…

Larnakas toilets are ridiculas in the baggage hall, their about as big as the toilets in my local library! I went in on XLA 738 but at the same time there was a TCY 752 & a MYT A320 plus some flight from Athens. The queue snaked round 2 of the baggage carrousals!!

Not my favourite. Try arriving at the EK terminal (T2?) through that dingy baggage area. Then navigate to T3 for a connection. You have to use a 1-trolley glass lift!
I like T2 personally more than T1, and I think the arrivals hall is a good facility. (Mind you any arrivals hall would seem good when you have just come back from ZTH!). The departure lounge is very spacious with a good selection of shops.

Character comes with time and experience, a bit like new football stadia.
Give the new terminals enough time, romance and enforced overnight stays and the “character” will be come a calling. :diablo:

Heyy! Manchester isnt! If you have ever been there you will know MAN is a great airport and not so much like a greenhouse but like a good proper airport.

Yes, airport toilets. Upon my recent visit to LGW North terminal I had a half mile walk to spend a penny. Well, actually I wanted to spend more than a penny and the Gents toilets had two loos. Ridiculous considering the volume of passengers! The queue was bigger than at check-in.
More toilets please LGW, We all have to go!

The Brum terminals are at least spacious and modern and ‘functional’ just a little impersonal and unwelcoming. We do have toilets but theyre hidden away in corners that take a bit of finding.
The terminal 2 (Eurohub as we used to have to call it) at least has good views out over the apron area , but I will always have a soft spot for the original terminal (now a cargo & gen. aviation facility) on the other side of the airport where i first got the avition bug as a kid when a visiting Viscount was a sight to see. Ah the good old days.

Indeed – take the old terminal at Palma, no air conditioning, inadequate and broken seating, dirty toilets…nostalgia ain’t what it used to be.
You want to count yourself lucky that you even have toilets!
Heathrow Terminal 1’s Domestic Departure lounge doesn’t have many. I stopped off for quick pee in July at the only toilet I could find. Although they were clean, there were just two toilets. Needless to say, there was a rather large queue to join.

Went i went spotting at Cardiff, the facilities were shut on a 29oC day. It was a flaming furnace in there.

You should be very glad you havent experienced the ‘joys’ of ZTH terminal.
