New Version Of Flight Simulator ????

I know i’;m probably as bad as the rest for this but, i’ve been hearing so much over the last few days about the release of FS 2006/ Or FS10 ? i thought i would ask if any of you guys had heard anything and share what i had heard in forums and online sessions.

ok guys lets compare notes.

Is there going to be an update ?
Can’t find any mention on Microsofts website, but i would think and hope so !! And anyone i press for better info says “friend of a friend told me ” and such like !!

Features to be included alledgedly

Automatic atc to include online as standard and allow emergency and diversions !!!

All aircraft will be visible to online players regardless of origin !!
imagine the disc space required !

Fs10 will need ten discs to install

scenery will be at a 38metre terramesh as standard!

While i konw this is idle specul;ation but thinking about it i need to save up tobuy another computer now in preperation if any of this is true please come on tell me i wanna know !!

NCRULES, to be fair around 4 million (5 million FS users) downloaded the “patch”, to re-install the towers, them from flight sim freeware download sites!

Did they delete the twin towers really? But those discs are to be thrown away then?

fs2004 was released on 26th july 2003!

To confirm FS2002 was released in November 2002 as it was originally going to be released LATE 1.5 weeks after September 11th.

They RECALLED all stock from shops and DELETED Twin Towers and hense was released LATE in November but was going to be LATE on its September i think 23rd release date in the first place.

Only time it has and will ever unless something goes wrong, be released in November

I bought it in August! Still remember clearly! I maybe even have the purchase ticket!
If they’re gonna release such a realism machine (except for flight dynamics, visual models, sounds and panels, which are usually very poor), They’d better include hard drive in the box.

Actually Jeanske, FS2004 wasn’t released in August was it? Funny how I got it for my birthday in November. I think Chris was actually right.

And someone else has just told me that there is a very nasty rumour about online flights going to be payware by monthly subscription. That would definetly be the end of multiplayer for me

This rumor is actually true BUT not in the way you talked about it. A Online Simulation Solutions designer told me in confidence that they were half way through developing what essentially is a “payware” version of VATSIM where you request your airport and someone in a Control Room in USA will do the ATC for you, whilst doing it for around 10 other “airports” people want and this all over the same voice room so that it sounds like the airport is busy!

Plans from what i can tell have fallen through due to lack of demand for the £20 monthly fee!!! (Most virtual pilots make around 1 flight a month on average….)

They can design scenery and all because that’s necessairy in every game they create. But when it comes to drawing panels, gauges and textures, they are very unreal, just like the flight models. We’ll need add on packs for ever!

absoloutly agree. They need to make it sellable but sotware/ hardware is new today old tomorrow and the diversity of the market is expanding everyday its going to have to be a giant leap forward i think……

but as i said speculation and i’m gunna keep telling my wife a major upgrade is necessary so just don’t talk about that anymore in case she reads over my shoulder !!

Lots of wild rumour when MS most likely haven’t decided themselves! Remember this has another year and a half until release!
However MS are not going to sell a product that doesn’t run on anyones PC, do I doubt whether a major upgrade would be necessary!
