Enough bits and bobs for a complete Junkers 88, anyway….!

Exactly right, conserve them and put on display as they are, instead of throwing away 95% of the ‘non airworthy’ aircraft to fly it.
Dave
i agree as did a pile of non aviation enthusiasts i showed the pix to….but as usual they do not belong to me anyway.

I agree, and apart from that the airframe was heavily damaged so a reconstruction was necessary anway.
But if it is for sal, who would buy such a project. Paul Allen?

But, as the last known survivor, is returning it to flying condition the right course of action?
Dan
Yes.

Have to agree about the Emil and Cobra, they would make a superb ‘time capsule’ exhibit, if properly conserved.
The Fw189 on the other hand has already had a lot of work done on the fuselage section to make it airworthy. But, as the last known survivor, is returning it to flying condition the right course of action?

Dan

Is it just me who would simply reassemble the ‘cobra and ‘109 and use them as static museum ‘time capsules’ – I think they are amazing as they are!

Wow – the Bf 109 E1/7 makes a very impressive sight sitting on its gear – considering it was pulled from a lake.
