Looks like someone known to this Forum has picked up a gong in the New Year Honours.

Hey don’t knock the lollipop persons, they do a far more worthwhile job than some of the supposed celebrities that get them and for a lot less money
Lazy ******s don’t start work until they are 65 years old… ;):D

Well done Paul a very well deserved award, I have always found you very at ease with the public, answering their and my questions with great knowledge and enthusiasm.Your service to the BBMF has made this collection stronger as your restoration of Spit TE311 shows, your break into the world of warbird journalism with the Haynes books shows what a great asset you are to the UK. warbird movement.
Once again congratulations Fluffy.:D

I would perhaps agree to wear a little ‘fussy’ item, may I suggest designs include Lancaster floating above head, with perhaps a little wispy suggestion of a cloud?
Mrs fluffy
Sounds absolutely delightful to me. I’m sure it would go down well with Her Majesty as she has a wicked sense of humour when the mood strikes her. My sister in law doesn’t do hats either but even she made an exception for the Queen’s garden party.
Hearty congrats to Paul – and to Alan Cassidy. It really is good to see some going to the aviation world.

OK, just to put those of you who don’t know me out of their misery:
Chief Technician Paul Blackah, RAF, BBMF, Black 6, historic aircraft etc etc
and Mrs Fluffy says she doesn’t ‘do’ hats!
Oh dear, I thought they ‘de rigeur’ for visits to Buck House

Regret to report that I am under the impression that “Ats” are a requirement for Lady Persons at Buck House on Investitures – whether Mrs Fluffy “does them”, or not!!
Time now, perhaps, for the more artistically minded of you to produce a design (with a BBMF theme) for the occasion!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done Paul.
I think we need a name change to ‘Fluffy MBE’ on the forum!
So is this the long delayed ‘for services to Luftwaffe aircraft restoration and operation’ then?
