2017 is Old Sarum’s centenary year, so we thought we should kick it off with a bit of an event on New Year’s Day. And then it became two events.
We have a New Year’s Day Fly-In and Films AND the relaunch of our Vintage Sundays.
While the fly-in is open to all, we would particularly love owners of older aircraft to fly-in. To encourage you, we have free landings for pre-1960 aircraft, a commemorative stamp for pilots’ logbooks, and free overnight parking for anyone wanting to fly-in on New Year’s Eve…
If the weather isn’t good enough for aviation, we have an informal gathering of vintage and classic cars and bikes. No booking necessary, just turn up!
There will be plenty inside to do as well – we are showing films (we are showing one on New Year’s Eve too) and the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection will be open.
The Skies Cafe will of course be open, and serving breakfast rolls, chilli and soup.
We’ve got a lot of Airfield to fill. Take that as a challenge!
Information on events at Old Sarum can be found on our website: http://www.oldsarumairfield.co.uk/events/

We’re planning something REALLY special for 2017 – we can’t let our centenary year go past without a proper celebration.
Date TBC, but we’re looking at end of August…

And I believe that after the break this year, next year shall see the return of the Old Sarum Airshow in September….. looking forward to that immensely !
Same here, was an excellent show in 2015!

We’re getting close now… We’ve heard that quite a few people are planning to attend. Let’s keep everything crossed that the weather plays ball!
Even if it’s not good for everyone to fly-in, we still hope to have some lovely old cars to look at. As well as the food & films, of course. 🙂

It’s nice to have some good news from an aerodrome for once.
