Hi guys I’m back.
Trying to catch up with what’s going on, it’s not easy.
So has New Zealand made a choice yet on their new Helo fleet? Last I heard Australian Aerospace (a branch off Eurocopter) was offering EC-135’s for replacment of the B-47G-2’s and and the MRH-90 like what the Australian Army are getting.
Personally I’d like to see the kiwi’s with the AB-139, it’s a nice ship, I think the MRH is too big for them.
Also a still unanswered question of mine: With the purchace of the new ships, will the RNZN be buying more SH-2G(NZ)’s? All references I’ve seen indicate that these birds are going to be very busy in the next few years, the two FFH’s have them, as will the two new OPC’s and the new fleet support will have two birds on it! That’s six birds not counting any for training (three at least- with one of these being down for maintanence), that’s nine all up. The problem is that the RNZAF only have five birds available to the RNZN! Will they buy more?
