Title says it all, what goodies did I miss at Newark the other weekend, I think others who could not attend will also be wondering the same.

The few ‘no-shows’ was a slight disappointment, especially as NAM had a waiting list for people wanting space to sell from.

Very exotic clouds there Bill! Thanks for minding the stall, it gets a bit lonely sat out on your own, as there was a double ‘no show’ next to me.
Although the plan was to de clutter, it wasn’t a total success. This nice lump of Phantom from the museum clear out and a box of American bits were a welcome offer towards the end of the day. Roll on Cockpitfest!

No problem VX927, being able to meet people like Jane and the inspirational young man that you brought along to Newark last year to look in the Vulcan, makes it easier to put up with the rubbish that some people like to espouse.
I am meeting with Jane again tomorrow at the crash site to discuss her plans for the new memorial to the 1661 HCU crew. What is also personally satisfying is that her decision to raise the memorial was prompted by picking up a copy of the Aviation Memorials in Nottinghamshire booklet at the County Show last May.
What is also great is that other groups like the Stirling Project may also be benefitting from her interest and research. 🙂

The main thing you missed was talking to a wonderful lady (Jane) who had an amazing story to tell about a Stirling which crashed on her farm – I’m sorry for gate crashing at the end of your conversation (Howard +1)!! The Heron spinners are great, but it was worth coming just to talk to Jane!

Ha ahahah !!!! Good one Mike. Clouds lenticular,— not a good day to fly in a light aircraft. Know you won’t believe me, but the adjustable spanner was the only thing I’m afraid. Looked at Garry’s Varsity Yoke, but price was way beyond me, glad to see it went to a good home though.

Yup !!!! great Aero-Jumble.
T’was indeed a good day. I only purchased a small 4″ Abingdon Adjustable spanner, but collected parts arranged for. Nice to meet old friends and yap away, as I’d not attended Newark for 2 years. Don’t know how many folks noticed but it was a clear sunny and windy day with conditions that were producing some great wave cloud formations over hills around. Here’s pics. I took of some late on in day when almost back home. These would be over Moelfamou Mount near Mold,Nth. Wales.

It is a shame lol but you have to follow everything up 🙂
found the farm but not the wing…There may be something no so far away that was used as something else….but haven’t had the chance to follow up yet.
cheers

Dave
Sorry to dissappoint you, but the “wing” parts mentioned, are infact the Elevators that you already know about.
Did you locate the farm in Scotland that had a Typhoon wing in use as a gate ?.
Hope you find the bits you are looking for.

You would be surprised that some very small parts make a big impact on the project 🙂 it may also help to fill big gaps in the technical data as well 🙂
