Newcastle 24th October 2008

Hi all,

It’s been a while since I last posted something here – life has been busy of late to say the least! Have seen some fantastic photos posted here in recent weeks – this forum is a great way of keeping up with what’s been seen around and about.

So, as most of us were blessed with clear, sunny skies yesterday I made an early trip to Newcastle. It took a while for the skies to clear up here (sometimes we’re just that little bit too close to the coast) but it was great to catch up with some regulars after a dismal summer. I’m afraid these are little more than your average side profile shots – I wasn’t feeling too adventurous yesterday, and besides, I’ve always enjoyed good side-on ‘collectors’ shot!

And to finish with, the first KLM of the day arriving at NCL on the 16th October –

Flybe operate a Q400 on the NCL-LGW

That’s a pity, I am due a trip up to NCL to visit family and hoped I might get to fly the 195 for the first time.

G-EUUZ looking very sparkly in the sunshine, doesn’t seem that long since I flew on G-EUUA on it’s first flight in service.

Cheers guys, glad you like!

Also, do you know who owns/operates the all white Fokker50 you saw? I can see it has a Dutch registration on it, could it be Denim Air on a charter/ad-hoc flight at all?

It came in for Wideroe, from Stavanger – a pleasant surprise even if it was all white.

The E195 was most likely on the SOU, EXT or even the BHD run.

Yup I think it was in from BHD.

Fantastic stuff as per usual Adam – keep up the good work.:)

Just curious about two things though…

1. Does Flybe operate an E195 on their LGW-NCL route or a Dash8 Q400? (If you can’t answer this, I am sure Deano will be able to…:D)

2. Also, do you know who owns/operates the all white Fokker50 you saw? I can see it has a Dutch registration on it, could it be Denim Air on a charter/ad-hoc flight at all?

Flybe operate a Q400 on the NCL-LGW run 4 times a day useing G-KKEV which looks rather daft with its Black nose.

The E195 was most likely on the SOU, EXT or even the BHD run.

Not sure about the Fokker! It is indeed operated by Denim Air! Ex VLM bird aswell! Not sure why she was in though.

Thanks for your kind feedback Rob – the Air Southwest scheme is certainly a smart one!

Here’s a couple more from Newcastle this morning (27th Oct)…

First up, BA’s latest A320 – G-EUUZ – which was delivered only 6 days ago…

And secondly, one of the ex. Wideroe/SAS Q400s now flying for Flybe – G-ECOY (ex. LN-RDG) – which was delivered on the 30th September…
