Newcastle News

With sadness, Air 2000 will be closing their NCL base in the near future. All staff with exception of flight crew have been given their notice.

On a related topic, its rumoured that JMC will shut their Luton, Cardiff and Bristol bases. I will try and post info as soon as Ive heard more.

Go-Fly started twice daily NCL-STN this week using Boeing 737-300s.

BA now serve NCL-LHR 7 Daily with more 757s operating on the route again.
BAOG (BA Operations Gatwick) are serving NCL-LGW 5 Daily with 4 RJ100s and a single Boeing 737-300.

More news when available.

RE: Newcastle news

I think it might be an idea if Newcastle Airport checked with Thomas Cook and updated their website!

RE: Newcastle news

I’ve heard SCY will be back operating the 757 next summer again, with no flights on the A300?
The NCL Airport website shows a TCX flight to Sanford operating Thursday back on Friday, as well as a MON flight in/out on a Saturday.
Other new flights are to Volos, Greece with flights operating via Skiathos on a Friday (Kosmar have this down as a Scandic flight).

TCX won’t be doing Orlandos out of Newcastle, just the standard Med stuff.

RE: Newcastle news

Looks likely that Excel will base an a/c at NCL next summer (in place of Air Scandic or in addition?)
easyJet routes likely to be AMS,GVA,CDG or BCN.
New summer routes to Bastia, Rimini, Pisa, Chania.
Monarch and TCX operating the Orlando flights ( not sure if BY also, yet).
Anyone know anything else?

JMC’s Newcastle operation for 2003 will be the same as 2002 (except for the name change to Thomas Cook).

RE: Newcastle news

Well I could give you news about Newcastle’s movements, but I fear they’d do you no good since it would be Newcastle NSW Australia 😛 And I don’t think easyjet would ever get there somehow :+

RE: Newcastle News

They are a company offering low-cost seats on other airlines such as Air Scandic, Air Atlanta etc.
They offer seats on flights from MAN and NCL to AGP and TFS.
Hope that helps.

RE: Newcastle News

Norweigan Air Shuttle will continue NCL-SVG on their own from 7th January. Flights operate twice daily by Fokker 50. So NCL-SVG will be served 3 daily. Rumours are running around about a potential LH flight to FRA or MUC, and with DUS going to a CRJ-700. We will have to wait and see.
Today Go increased frequency to 3 Daily on the NCL-STN route.

British European have been operating NCL-JER charters for the last 2 summers 😉
There has been rmours swirling that Norweigan Air Shuttle will coninue NCL-SVG, but with their own code and not that of Braathens. However Ive also heard that Wideroe could begin services on NCL-SVG.:-)

CRJ-200’s,
Bae 146 100 -> 300’s ‘Wisper Jets’
Dash 8 Q200 ->400

RE: Newcastle News

Can i just add that BE has taken over the NCL-BRU route for a few weeks and then handing it back to Delta Air Transport while they get over this time where their parent company no longer exists.
