Newcastle photo/spotting trip

I plan on a trip up to Newcastle in late June/July probably a Saturday. Where are the best vantage points for spotting/photographing a/c? Can anything be seen from inside the terminal now(landside)? Any help would be much appriciated.

Yes, there is absolutely no point going into the actual airport. The best place to be when 07 is in use is the field at the front of the airport, you can get some great photo opportunities.

I dont think anything can be seen from the terminal unless you have a boarding card. Unless you count costa cafe which is very limited to 07 airrivals or 25 departures but the glass isnt 2 good.

The road round the back of 25 offers good views of landing aircraft if 25 is in use. Departing aircraft taxi right next to you as they go onto the runway if 25 is in use also. Nothing much can be seen from the terminal now.

Hi dc10fan, there are a few geordies on here who know NCL spooting places like the back of our hand! The terminal, I’m not too sure you are better off asking someone called NCLRULES, Britannia, Speedbird 12T or concordesst. There are some spotting places around the terminal building, try this site for example: http://air169.tripod.com

There is a metro bridge outside the terminal which is OK for viewing, and down the road (the Metro side) there is a field, it is a landing light field but there are great views. runway 25 side is good for viewing aswell.
