Virgin Have finally painted up G-VSEA into the new c/s. I think they just have the one A340 to do now then the whole fleet is complete.

Excel Airways will lease a 767-300 from Air Atlanta for the Winter season to use on Grenada, Tobago, and St. Kitts routes. It will have a 3-class configuration with Excel One a 24-seat cabin with 45″ pitch.

Vietnam Airlines are to add Germany to their network route. Flying to Frankfurt from November this year, using a 777.

A Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, on Sunday careered off the runway at Courchevel. Thankfully no injuries, but the aircraft suffered bad damage:

Yesterday a small single prop aircraft made an emergency landing at Meigs field, Chicago, due to an electrical problem.

Richard Branson has made a bet with the owner of Qantas, that he will be able to get Virgin aircraft flying to Australia by the end of the year… Failure to do so, Mr Branson will have to dress up in a Qantas female flight attendent outfit and work for Qantas for a day… and if Branson wins the owner of Qantas will have to do the same, but for Virgin!

China Eastern today took delivery of its first A340-600. The aircraft will be used on routes in Europe, including the UK.

The famous Boeing Stratoliner which ditched into a lake in the US last year has now been fully restored and is on its way to the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

China Eastern is quite welcome to the UK. I posted about it a while back with the proposed dates being in June though obviously this didn’t happen. I think they also added Moscow.

Vietnam to Germany is positive news of yet more expansion to Europe though straight on to a 777 is quite large to open a new market with. Any sign on UK flights?

St. Kitts sounds interesting.

I looked at a job a few weeks ago in Nevis, which is the neighbouring island. One concern I had was that it seemed tricky to get to.
