The restoration to flight of Hurricane AM274 has been under restoration by John Norman here in Washington state for some time. I’m guessing it may not be as well known as some of the UK restoration efforts. Here’s a link to his website page about it. I saw he’s asking $300,000…seems like a deal considering how much work has been done.

Also, he’s building a faithful replica of the Spirit of St Louis. Replicas of NX 211 aren’t new, but his promises to be particularly accurate.

AM274 has been available for sale for some time. Its rebuild is just ‘on hold’ while Spirit of St Louis is being built – there being a limit of just how much one man can do at a time!
