Difficult to know where to post this, it’s old but not historic, not commercial aviation so I will try here ? please if it should be elsewhere remove to there !
So … This very nice looking Ryan Avian popped into Norwich a few days ago ! I think it came from Earls Colne, but maybe wrong ? The airframe dates from 1951 I am told …. but looks so good for it’s age !!

Thanks Mike ! As I pre-date it by three years it’s nice to think I may be historic ? but more often …. hysteric !!

At 60+ years old I think it can safely be classed as historic but it is a GA aircraft so either place would be correct I think.

He had plans to purchase another Ryan in the US about 2005, but I cannot find any confirmation that this happened.

The owner had a German example which he used as a spares ship in the restoration of N3864. He had plans to purchase another Ryan in the US about 2005, but I cannot find any confirmation that this happened.

Lovely looking aircraft. Probably at home here or in Historic.
I’m glad I saw the thread title (I don’t spend much time over here)

Very pretty Keith! You are correct in all your information. It is ‘looking good for it’s age’ because it was bought as a wreck and rebuilt over three years. The owner also has a Messenger G-AJWB.
