Nimrod fleet grounded.

On Friday, the fleet of Nimrod MR2’s were grounded for inspection after a ‘dent’ was found in a fuel pipe. The grounding was temporary in respect of some aircraft that had been cleared of the problem. MOD stated that the inspection had no connection with the crash or investigation of the loss of XV230 which crashed in Afghanistan last September. This aircraft and two previous incidents reported on board fires.
