I know this might be slightly off the beaten track but I know there are an awful lot of people involved in the preservation movement, not a few of whom have had a considerable knowledge and experience of the Nimrod.
In a hypothetical future, let’s say ‘my’ Nimrod is is at a museum which has too little space and requires the span of the Nimrod to be shortened. If this could and were to be done, where exactly would the wings be cut?
Don’t worry, no Nimrods are in danger, it’s for a modelling project. I have an Airfix Nimrod whose outer starboard wing has been damaged beyond repair and rather than simply bin it I would like to make something of it if at all possible.
As always, any help would be most appreciated.

Brilliant Dave, that’s just what I was looking for. I’m sure I remember that Comet at BHX in the 1970’s.
Thanks again.
