Hi all
Just the one from Waddington yesterday.
Taken at 18mm just before I ducked ๐

Breathtaking.
Just imagine the angry waves of the North Atlantic beneath it, and it’s perfect ๐
Thanks.

It was never that dark, Ben. I was there too! It is an interesting interpretation though and looks impressive! Great shot!

Hi
I can confirm it is XV249 but I know nothing about the attachments.
I dont think we are supposed to ๐

Great pictures Ben, was it XV249 and does anyone know what the items attached to the Rib 7 pylons on both wings are for? – Mike

Thanks everybody ๐ฎ
This is me ๐ฎ about to get a soaking ” WHAT, THERES A WHAT BEHIND ME” ๐

I should say this pic was taken by my girlfriend, its not half bad ๐ Well the aeroplane part ๐ She was with me for a few passes but I think the fumes got a bit to much after a while. I had a bit of headache but it was the last chance, so I stuck it out. Well not exactly stuck it out, LOVED every minute of it ๐
This is not a great pic but its as close as I can get to showing how it feels to be under a Nimrod on approach.
I cant help but hear U2`s Elevation when I look at this ๐

Regards
Ben

Fantastic shot Bennyboy! Great angle, light, weather conditions etc to make a very different and moody shot!
As Baz touches on it kinda whisks me back in time aswel to when we would brave the kerosene rinse of standing right under a landing Nimrod!

shame Nimrod R1 XV247 performed its last flight from RAF Waddington today. XW664 will finish at the end of the month.
You mean XV249 as that got converted from an mr2 to mk1R, XV247 became PA01 of the short lived MRA4 version.
Great picture all the same – Mike

Thanks for the comments, realy appreciated.
I`m happy with it, but I have a good way to go yet before I can `compete` with a few others who post on here.
My own camera would be a good start ๐

That has to be the best photo I’ve seen on the forum so far!

That is epic, it looks too perfect. You’d think it was computer generated. ๐
