Nimrod R1 support contract – stay of execution?

Well well well a rather interesting development here that seems to have slipped through our news net:

After the threats to retire and share the American RC135 it would mean the type would meet its intended OSD of 2013.

I hope we get a new type incorporating the technology from the Helix upgrade program. The most logical solution is merge with any American program to replace the RC135.
