ok – so how many other ‘halifiles’ – such as myself – realised that the serialised drama ‘NO HIGHWAY’ starting on bbc r4 today has HANDLEY PAGE HALIFAX connections ? specifically Halifax PP296 ?
back in the early 1950s the film version of ‘NO HIGHWAY’ used PP296 !!

Cld 27.4.49 and re-regd same day to Westminster A/W Ltd and C of A No. 10566 also issued same day to new owner . 116 tanker Airlift sorties . C of A expired 26.4.50 and WFU at Blackbushe . Cld 23.10.50 . In 12.50 it was used in the film ‘No Highway’ and converted to the fictitious Reindeer a/c with tricycle u/c , four ‘jets’ and a single fin and rudder . For the film the regn G-AFOH was applied .
