No pleasing some people!

Dear me!!

I thought marriages we about compromize! The missus wouldn’t let me bid on the cockpit of G-AOHL ,she put a stop to me bidding on the Viscount simulator that was also on ebay, so I thought she’d be thrilled bout my COMPROMIZE, I just won a Viscount pilots seat off ebay and she’s STILL not happy! Even with my argument that it would make a great chair for the computer table!

I even offered to take her to Southend with me to collect it 😀

cue slap and ‘ I don’t think so!’

Luck I kept my flat, only been married a month! :diablo:

As we had a load of cash in Paypal (selling kiddy stuff/clothes), I have just bought my Wife a Breadmaker, that seems to have gone down well and diverted attention from my new camera, Kamov KA52 Fuselage for my RC Heli, Mamod Parts and Guitar tuner…eBay is a wonderful thing! 😀

My canberra is starting to get a bit of obsession as not only do i work on her at Gatwick Aviation Museum but i also have my manual (courtsey of Bournemouth TY guys) a couple of books and all my files on my PC at home. Now my partner Heidi is amazing at taking photos, so, I get to work and she takes all my photos for me. Ok if the weather is bad im stuffed like today, but i managed to get 4 hours work done today but no more til maybe the weekend but to keep me happy the manual will come out. Oh she found me 2 books and ordered them without telling me from the libray. She may not be plane mad like me but atleast im not getting screamed at……. yet LoL.

In order to ‘buy’ more time in my workshop to build my RC models I have managed to get my wife into card-making, so have set her a bench up in the spare room and ‘Lent’ her some of my tools…
I have also set up a workbench in the Workshop for the Kids to build ‘Projects’ on, hopefully as they get older they can work independantly whilst I get on on my side… (3 year old son building wooden F1 car, 6 year old daughter building Airfix Sea King, I’m building 1/12 scale Channel Airways Dakota!)

With dreams of a sea hawk cockpit in the garage, I took a tried and tested idea from my pal Gene (he with the F-15 cockpit www.f15sim.com) and persuaded swmbo* that I _could_ be in the pub or sprawled in the front of the TV watching football with a 6-pack of beer, OR I could be just a shout away in the garage working on the cockpit. She opted for the cockpit 🙂

Don’t ask me what I did to earn so many hours working on the J41 and the Grumman 😉

*swmbo… She Who Must Be Obeyed.

The things people collect…

A Viscount seat as an office chair – you saddo!

I very nearly chucked away an entire PT22 airframe last week – bent after a forced landing but all there – yet managed to find a home for it at the Nth hour.

I was honestly about to load it all up and take it down to the Council tip.

I have so much ‘better not throw it away’ cr@p that the lovely Nicky put her foot down – stiletto in the middle of the back no less……Oooooh! and I have promised her a purge.

The PT came as a spares machine with my flier and has clogged up one of my garages for the last 3 years.

Sods law I’ll now need a widget but, what the heck.

The seats were nice – apart from the stain on the pilots seat of course…!

do what I do JAybeebee. When you buy something pop it in the garage of somewhere in the house where its not obvious. ONly look at it when her indoors isnt around and then a few months down the road wheel it out and declare the imortal words………

Look what I found I didnt realise I had this.

Now she wont believe you as she will no doubt do this with the shoe or handbag collection but she cant prove it. Granted i havnt tried this with an item the size of a seat though.

Assure your wife that Viscount Pilot’s seats are really comfortable.

……..then buy youself an airline pilot’s uniform, suggest she buys an airline stewardess’s outfit, make sure the seat is well fixed to the floor and ………(I’ll leave the rest to your imagination) 😀 😀 😀

Think nose was scrapped. Was told that my hobby was turning into an obsession and was asked why I needed all this ‘old junk’ that takes up space. Asked why she needed so many pairs of shoes and a wardrobe full of clothes which she never wears. No answer to that! One nil to me I think! 😀

Mind you, I suppose as Im going to Southend by myself, it’ll be peace and quiet for a few hours!!!!!!
