What does any of this have to do with the Ki-84?
my mistake, i typed an 8 instead of a 6.. its the Ki-64 Hien. I do believe the engine was similar to a German fighter.

Looks like quite an impressive piece of kit. Just looking at the forward fuselage, it almost seems to be a visual cross between a Seafire 47, Me109 and a Yak 3. Was this the DB601-powered Japanese fighter which never really entered full-scale production?
Old F18 Hamburger might be an odd old chap, but if he comes in here and helps increase my knowledge bank, I won’t complain… 😉
