Hardly comes as a surprise, but I suspect we might have seen the last one for a good few years.

I presume you are referring to the Vulcan or two Lancaster’s, neither of which graced the Sunderland Airshow which still has crowds in excess of 200,000 over the two days
Although had those two displays flown at Sunderland, there is little doubt more people would have attended.
Anyway, apologies for the thread drift.

, without any major attractions this year, I reckon attendee numbers will be down anyway.

I don’t think that any further “possible” airshow restrictions, will affect seafront displays too much.
Although say that, without any major attractions this year, I reckon attendee numbers will be down anyway.
I doubt we will go to Bournemouth, and maybe not Clacton.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see Shoreham return in the next year or two.

Interestingly Herne Bay is saying that if they are successful in getting the Red Arrows again, they will go ahead with a show this August instead of delaying to next year, which was the original plan. They already have a number of provisional bookings. So we’ll see.
One can understand the particular sensitivity of Shoreham, of course.

I think that is the correct decision. However I would imagine all airshow organisers must be on tenterhooks waiting for the AAIB/CAA reports before they can go ahead with their plans for 2016.
