No such thing as a Brontosaurus"

Wondered why my 5 year old son’s dinosaur books make no mention of the Brontosaurus, which was one of the major species in the books I had at his age. Googled it, and was surprised to find this-

No Brontosaurus?? Nooooooo. Soon they’ll be trying to convince us Pluto isn’t a planet…

What do you call a bloke with a rabbit shoved up his backside?

Jim,

Agree with that.

TonyT,
Your joke very nearly resulted in a coffee/monitor incident! 😀

Jokes is it?

Why do women not f*rt

Because they don’t keep their mouth closed long enough to build up any back pressure…

On dinosaurs I as a adult was gutted to learn that they had decided all my childhood images of them dragging their tails along the ground were wrong and they actually carried them in the air as counterbalances, the other was a model kit I got had detailed painting instructions…. How the heck did they know what colour they were?

As this seems to have degenerated into a crap joke thread, here’s another for Jim:

What is the difference between a married man and a stopped clock?

The clock is right twice a day.

If a man is alone in a forest and speaks, is he still wrong?

By the way – Interesting piece about the “Brontosaurus”. 😀

Now Cmon, ole Critter, what better way to start the day, than to laugh at a good clean, family joke?, better than listening to a load of miserable News on T.V. stating what this blood* Government is going to steal from us next.
If the Mods don’t mind, keep em coming.
Dinos have died out, jokes never will.:D
PLEASE Sir, WACO started it!!

Jim.

back on thread….;) I remember my son’s long dinosaur fixation (about 3 years or more and even now at 12 he has models in his room) learning this little gem. There is a lot of asumption/deduction but it’s actually quite fun to learn. For the 5 year old, I can recommend the BBC Walking with dinosaurs” DVD’s, excellent and far better to watch than Bob or Tweenies etc !

the follow ups “beasts” and “Monsters” are equally as good, my son lapped them up for years.

They might say the same about people wandering around aviation museums looking at lifeless relics of the past, which other people have spent a fortune restoring for that purpose!!;);)…….

But at least we get to see them “in the flesh”…much better than a uncovered collection of bones.
I recall reading in National Geographic awhile back that the scientists are now wondering what color dinosaurs really were. They now think they may have been very bright. Again, we’ll never really know.

At least we have good idea of the colors of old aircraft…though some photos and model box art do their best to confuse us. 😀

They changed the name on us…they seem to do it all the time.

I was never a kid enthralled by dinosaurs…and I can’t image a more frustrationg field of science to be in.
You’re never going to see one alive and 90% of the work you do is nothing more than a guess.

Seems a silly way to spend your life.
