What is there to say that hasnt been said already an excellent, excellent Airshow , only grumble was the wavers didnt seem to be helping taffic flow much, oh and my face is stupidly burnt.

Nonsense. None of these images need any further sharpening, they’re fine as it is. The Reds one is softer from haze and distance, and over-sharpening will do nothing to rescue that.
The name randomly blatted near the middle of each shot does however detract from them significantly.
Perhaps its just a matter of taste, and the settings I used were very modest – but you’re right about the Reds, it doesn’t improve at all – just – as you say – gets noisier.

Thanks for the Tips, In future I wont bother with the name I dont think.
No I didnt use a teleconverter. cant be bothered with one as Im just trying to spend a year getting used to manual settings before I can afford to go DSLR.

Nice photo’s i was using the same type of camera as yourself i may post some later, Really enjoyed the show but suffered real bad with Hay fever which was a first for me.

Not bad at all.
But, if I may suggest, your images will improve significantly if you add just a smidgeon of unsharp mask.
I took the Wingwalkers photo and subjected it to :
Radius 1.50, Strength 50 & Clipping 5, and it really helped. You got the shutter speed just about as good as can be expected, & focus is good too.
I suspect the Reds photo will improve somewhat too.
Did you use a teleconverter? If so, which one?
