Tony Scott, Top Gun director, commits suicide at 68
Another article, but with profile pic
Tony Scott, the British film director behind Hollywood blockbusters including “Top Gun,” has committed suicide at the age of 68 by jumping from a bridge.
I heard this on the radio in the car this morning. I’m shocked and devastated. Such a great talent who brought us some amazing films 🙁
Top Gun
Crimson Tide
Enemy of the State
Days of thunder
Beverly Hills Cop II
To name but a few examples of this man’s brilliance.

He will be missed by many Film Buffs, he certainly knew how to put the “Action” into his films.
And to have brain Cancer, and he must have known, was obviously too greater burden for him to carry. He will be very sadly missed.
Jim.

I read this first thing this morning.
Really sad news, but “apparently” he had inoperable brain cancer.
I’m watching Top Gun right now, as it happens…
