I found this photo on a French website created by Indochina veterans and note that the Nord 1000 appears unusual in bare metal livery: most Nord 1000’s in Indochina were either painted overall green or aluminum. Secondly, the roof of the canopy appears to be modified.
Can any tell me about the unit this Taifun was assigned to, and the operational history? Also I am interested in the markings: were they similar to other Nord 1000’s? Thank you for any information or other photos showing the whole fuselage.
The caption says, “l’equipe de Hue les mecanos d L’ELA 52 et du GAOA” Once you hit the link, scroll down to the shot of the mechanics sitting on the Nord. Thank you in advance.

I suspect the “Mod” will be something to keep the sun of the occupants.

Farmgate – I researched and answered in depth your last query a while back on this Forum (about a Beech Staggerwing), but as there’s been no acknowledgement from you since, I’ll pass on spending more time on this one.

[QUOTE=Farmgate;2285787] Secondly, the roof of the canopy appears to be modified.
How do you think the canopy has been modified?

That looks for all the world like a link to your C drive, on your computer, not a dead link. Unless we were hackers we couldn’t have linked to it…;o)

That’s it, and my apologies for posting a dead link. Scroll down, looks like a bare metal Taifun. Thanks again.
