Anyone explain how a Russian based company can be using planes registered in Bermuda (VQ) without having them on the Russian register?:confused:

Aeroflot’s planes are not Russian registered either. I believe the owner has to have some connection with the place they are registering in, but doesn’t have to be based there. Bit complicated rules here but plenty of airlines have done it in the past. Popular registration locations include Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and the republic of Ireland.
