Normandy formation flypast

Did you not see the Red Arrows overflying the launch of the QE2 on TV the other night, they appeared not to have had time to fit the smoke systems to their 13 RN Buccaneers they had borrowed for the occasion :highly_amused:

Ah, so both la Patrouille de France and the Red Arrows did fly pasts. The French flypast seems to have been more prominent and the British media seem to have done a thorough job of labelling the wrong one as the Red Arrows. My original point was that the aircraft shown in the video with high-mounted anhedral wings are not Hawks but Alphajets, but apparently such details are beyond a lot of people (journalists in particular).

Red Arrows did a flypast at Arromanches, they’ve put up a short video of the flypast filmed from Circus 6 on the Red Arrows FB page.

I just thought I would check and, yes, ITV has been at it as well.

Most BBC reporters wouldn’t know the difference between a Red Arrow and a dead sparrow…

Probably the Red Arrows (who seem to have been re-branded as “The Reds”) at Portsmouth and Patrouille de France at Caen/Arromanches.
