I noticed from this mornings live flight arrivals for GLA that all the inbound North Atlantic services were considerably late, two hours late on average. This included the AA, US Airways and Continental services as well as the Icelandair 757, which was so late it obviously didn’t have time to apply it’s graphics, presumably it’s been working for Loftleidir or vice versa ?
It gave me a chance to get to the airport to see them mind you ! 🙂
Note, the Skyservice A320 wasn’t operating from Canada, but it operating for My Travel the noo !

My best friend is going to be on that 777!Shes LH CC@LHR,and shes been picked for that trip!Shes got a nice 04.45 check in tomorrow –its only a one way trip as they will come back to LHR by road from Cardiff.
why would BA be using Lufthansa cabin crew?
anyway, more importantly, for the real cup final tomoroow, how many 777’s will be flying dunfermline fans to from Embra/Leuchars to Glasgow? 😉
(sorry, I forgot, they have no fans as an 82 strong travelling support proved at Parkhead two weeks ago)

I’m not drive several hundred miles just to see a 777.
I’ve seen them at LHR
I mean, seeing one in EDI would be a treat, considering it would be the first and probably only ever time one will visit EDI!

777’s on shuttle routes? 😮 what’s that in aid of? any chance of them operating the lunchtime shuttle to Heathrow next Wednesday? A319’s are nice, but a 777 to sample would be better. 😉
I think you may find that 767s do operate the odd shuttle.
777s? During this years Edinburgh Festival maybe.?

There are 2 different fleets of 767s within BA, the long haul and the short haul ones. Crews are all trained on them both, and the planes are identical apart from the cabin layout.
Planes used on Worldwide services have First and Club cabins, and the economy cabins has communal TV screens used for showing IFE, and I believe these are being retrofitted with PTVs. Athens, Larnaca and Moscow use SH 767s, but Tel Aviv is the shortest route with Long Haul ones. The longest 767 route is the Seychelles, a 13 hour flight via Nairobi.
There are 18 SH 767s and 10 LH ones, although this looks set to change this year.
However with the current fuel crisis BA are keeping their options open with regards to replacement of these aircraft, although they have been trying to get rid of them for some time without success.
Alas, dues to the fact the 767’s are RR engine equipes, I doubt they’ll find anyone interested.
Except Qantas maybe?

ISomeone mentioned having to use long-haul 767’s in Europe. Don’t BA use the 763 to Athens still (they used to use the 762)?
Yes, they do. Not sure if its a longhaul 763 or not.
By: greekdude1 - 20th May 2004 at 18:54
I didnt think BA had 762 except the code share aircraft from ill fated US Air tie up.
You could be right. I thought that they had 762’s of their own.

I think BA just have poor mechanics, in general. 😉
Someone mentioned having to use long-haul 767’s in Europe. Don’t BA use the 763 to Athens still (they used to use the 762)? If so, is this considered a long-haul 767 or otherwise?
