Well the Welsh Assembly has given the go-ahead for a North-South air link which is badly needed!
Valley has been chosen as the Airport to be served in the North, with a Terminal to be built, better road links, and improved navigational aids.
Cardiff will get a new link road, and hopefully a train link.
I’ll be using it!

Virgin don’t own the track; Network Rail do. :p
OK then – back to aviation now. :diablo:

As the link in my posting shows, Network Rail disagree with you bmi-star – and it’s their train set. 😉
I’m not giving up :D.
Virgin do call it the West Coast main-line, to be more spesific, it is a “Branch” line of the WCML, the map shows in a blue line!
Back to Aviation now :p

You’re thinking of the Bangor-Holyhead line, surely. 😉
And may i say, that is the West Coast mail line Grey. Trains to London have been used on it for years, Virgin annouce it as a “West Coast” service, and on British Rail timetables, it has always been a “branch” link of the WCML.
Who lives here? Me or You 😀
And RYR want to use Valley! It has been in the papers for years for a direct link to STN, lets hope it can materialize!

I thought this forum was about aviation? Ah well, follow the crowd! The nearest train station to Valley (i think) is in a small town called Caergeiliog. Surely a bus would stop at Valley airport though?

The West Coast Main Line goes nowhere near RAF Valley, bmi-star. You’re thinking of the Bangor-Holyhead line, surely. 😉

But RAF Valley is at the back of beyond!!!
I can’t see it being of much use, except perhaps to people travelling to Holyhead to catch a ferry…… 😉
LOL – they’d be lucky when you could easily fly directly from CWL!!

Yeah just a bit, but these are people who travel between the north and the south every day
