North Star Airlines Now Open

http://img445.imageshack.us/img445/9170/banner8my.png

North Star Airlines can trace history back to 1995 when British North Atlantic (BNA) was formed. They started operations from Glasgow, Scotland; in 1996 with a single leased B767-200. This aircraft flew to Halifax, New York (JFK) and Washington Dulles. In 1998 serious problems emerged after a loss of £8 million.

The airline was forced to shutdown in 1999, but was still funded by creditors up until 2004 when plans to re-start the airline were announced.

The airline was to be restarted under the name North Star Airlines. With correct management, routes and fleet plans the airline is expected to last a long time.

New routes from Edinburgh and Newcastle commenced on January 2nd 2006 with 2 B767-200ER’s based in Edinburgh and Newcastle.

Due to the fact that we are flying Scheduled services, we felt that our old livery suited Charter service therefore we have decided to paint a new livery.

We have decided to use the well known FlyNET system for PiRep and Pilot Applications. We beleive that by using this system, we can increase the number of facilities for each pilot.
Facilities included are:
Live Flight Tracking
Automatic Pirep logging
Booking a flight to fly
and more are available on website.

North Star Aid flights to Africa, including Banjul, Freetown, Douala, Malabo and Tripoli will complement the existing programme from Edinburgh and Newcastle to North America. Flights start on Monday the 13th of February. We have also planned flights within the UK and to High-Density Destinations in Mainland Europe.

North Star Airlines will operate a weekly scheduled service between Newcastle International and Freetown (Lungi) Airport in Sierra Leone via Banjul in Gambia on
Mondays.

This sounds very intersting, good luck with the project and that, I know how demanding getting a VA off the ground is,
