I’ve looked but not found… Did anyone go on Sunday? What was it like, anything fly?
I was in the hanger beating the poor old Stearman into submission as the ground outside is a little on the damp side and I don’t have a seaplane rating.

Probably in for maintenance then?

has it moved from Sandown? It was last owned by Mr Steele who also owns the airport.
MarkV,
Can’t be certain but thats where it was in November when I was there

Hey Yak 11 how’s the darkened room North Weald? great market but every now and again some one spoils it by flying aircraft there 🙂

I wondered myself who owned the G46, had been waiting a long time to see it ‘in the flesh’ so to speak, after seeing photo’s of it. Had got it in my head it was based in Jersey, or some other island, so Sandown IOW may have been right (once).
Janie,
was nice to meet you, if I had been sure it was you I would have introduced myself.

The Fiat is based at Booker, with PPS (not owned by them though)
Had a look around her last November when I was shown round the hanger by a certain fellow who frequents this forum – thanks again chap 😀
Very nice kite BTW

If North Weald was built on, where would all the cool stuff based there go? Biggin perhaps?
Biggin is too busy. Rumour has it students can wait for 20 minutes just to take off.
There is nowhere which is as convenient.
I quite like the idea of building the houses on the airport, but keeping the runway usable there. 😮
Of course each house would have its own hangar. 😎

Janie,
I must have had the form off you, were you the one in black?
That’s me.
Al: I know who you are! Wooly hat. Long wavy hair. First time in a light aircraft. Live locally. It was the AT3 you were in. Now don’t go telling who I am, or I’ll have to castrate you, like I did the others.

Why are they planning to build houses on North Weald? It’s not a flood plain.
Sorry – Local joke!
By: Arabella-Cox - 9th March 2005 at 20:43
No problem Al. If you were the Al Reid that I thought you were, you’d have known what I meant straight away. And remembered the hangovers. 😉
By: Al Reid - 9th March 2005 at 20:27
Well, it MIGHT have been an AT3…… 🙂
I didnt notice anyone beating ME up for my sig but then I did mine ages ago 🙂 (Mr Tanker wouldn’t let me near the counter for my coffee intake until I had).
They are digi pics but dont have anywher online to post as yet.

Can’t see why they ( who ever they are) are making an attempt to take over such a historic airfield that means much to many with regard to
Because our current government has no care about the history of this nation or what made it Great. They will apologise to anyone for anything if they think it will get them votes.
They are a disgrace.

I was there, and filled in the form.
A thoroughly enjoyable day, and a wonderful atmosphere around The Squadron, even though we were all there for a serious reason.
Couple of photo’s for you all…….

Lets hope all the hard work by the NWAUG pays off. 🙂

Sure hope the plan to build houses or what ever they are planning to build at North Weald will be defeated. Can’t see why they ( who ever they are) are making an attempt to take over such a historic airfield that means much to many with regard to
The Battle of Britain.I believe that I once passed the sign for it off the M-25 going from Gatwick to Cambridge …should have stopped in. Here is the states they have fought similar battles over the encroachment of housing and shopping centers covering Civil War battlefields. North Weald is way to historic to lose to some lame housing project, hope it is defeated. Granted new homes and business development is important to the national economy but not at the expense of such history.

Hurrah! New person alert! Attack Attack! 😀
Welcome to the Funny Farm Al.
So what did you fly in? The AT3 perhaps? So I take it your pics are neither digital nor do you have a scanner.
(Moderator: Ban him! He’s teasing us!)
Did you happen to see that pushy bird who was handing out the protest forms?
bisfit: Sorry, I never actually saw the 190 as I was busy handing out the protest forms!
