My weekend (because I know you care):
I intended flying Blue Robin to N.Weald only to find that the Chippy tailwheel needed replacing. Not a problem. That was done by some truly wonderful chaps. Then we found that a rocker cover had fallen off the Gipsy, so the Chip was left in the hangar and we drove to N.Weald (dull dull dull).
Still I hung around at N.Weald until Melv and his wonderful SWMBO arrived (24 hours later) and she was not at all bothered by Melv & I’s immaculate conception. Druiscilla was just happy to be with both parents for a change.
I’m afraid that the really interesting stuff that happens to me at the weekends, never gets published. You want the good stories? Ask John the refueller at N.Weald and Paul, my publicist there.
BR: Thanks very much for the company. Very sorry it did not work out. We can always fly another day with a serviceable engine.
