YakRider, When will copies of the 2016 calendar be available and where does one obtain such copy? Being in the Antipodes does have its disadvantages…..Lovely artwork.

The DC-4 had its nose removed on Tuesday 8 December. This has gone to the Burtonwood Heritage Centre. Pictures courtesy of Colin I’anson
On Wednesday 9 December the airframe looked very sad as parting out continued.
Today (Saturday 19 December) the end is in sight.
Thanks to everyone who has taken an interest in the Airfield over the past year. The Spirit of North Weald our Airfield newsletter, is available for download as a pdf from our website – www.northwealdairfield.info – the link is at the bottom left of the page. All 18 issues are available.
Worrying too see the other one has been moved back next to the destroyed one, is it going under the torch as well? Such a shame that one of these iconic classic aircraft might not be saved complete!!!!

Indeed many thanks for your contributions over the past year.
Have to say I’m quite surprised to see a lifting strop routed through the cockpit windows of the DC-6?!

Sunday 11 October
A poignant day as we had the Vulcan fly through for the very last time. Thousands turned out to watch this historic occasion. As she climbed away the sun lit her up beautifully!
