The DC-4 had its nose removed on Tuesday 8 December. This has gone to the Burtonwood Heritage Centre. Pictures courtesy of Colin I’anson
On Wednesday 9 December the airframe looked very sad as parting out continued.
Today (Saturday 19 December) the end is in sight.

Worrying too see the other one has been moved back next to the destroyed one, is it going under the torch as well? Such a shame that one of these iconic classic aircraft might not be saved complete!!!!

Wednesday 25 November
A pair of Apaches – Gunship Formation – came from Wattisham for some general handling in some moody light.
The yellow Gnat – G-MOUR – has been repainted and was out on a local too.
The Napp’s Field Stearman is currently hangared at The Squadron. It had a sporting time in the blustery crosswind.

Apologies for a lack of recent posts. Most of my spare time has been taken up creating profiles for our 100th Anniversary calendar.
The Meeson Rapide came in on 14 October fro Old Warden for some circuits.
The Jet Provost Mark 3, G-BKOU, was also out on a local flight.

Sunday 11 October
A poignant day as we had the Vulcan fly through for the very last time. Thousands turned out to watch this historic occasion. As she climbed away the sun lit her up beautifully!

Gnats departed for first formal display at Church Fenton after the loss of G-TIMM.
The Spitfire PRXI also returned from the same show.

Saturday 19 September
The MiG 15UTI departed for Blackpool to display at Southport.
Clive Denney also brought the Kent Spitfire in for fuel between displays.
As requested, a picture of the DC-4 in its current state.

Friday 18 September
Th Kennet T6 Texan and Seafire arrived in formation. The T6 had come from Yeovilton and the Seafire from Boscombe Down.
They later went out for a photo sortie with the Seafire departing to Duxford and the T6 back to Yeovilton.
