Hi All
Surprised no one has mentioned this already but there is a ‘Hurricane Event’ due to take place at North Weald this coming Sunday
Sunday 25th October, The Squadron, North Weald Airfield
Fund raiser for the Sir Sydney Camm Memorial Society.
11AM TILL 4PM
Scheduled to attend are 4 airworthy Hurricanes along with a number of ‘guest warbirds’ from other North Weald based collections along with some visitors flying in to complete the flight-line walk.
There will also be a signing event attended by a number of veteran pilots (around 15 at last count) who flew the Hawker Hurricane in various theatres during World War Two.
Was told admission will be £5 for the walk – for those who want to have books/prints signed there will be an additional fee
Hopefully the weather gods will be kind and make it a great day for all
Cheers
Chris

Both on winter servicing since the end of September
Do the BBMF Fighters have the same limts on flying hours as the lancaster?? Which I belive is 100 hours each display season and is that the same for the DC-3 aswel

I understand they are being serviced now as otherwise they would have attended – not 100% sure on this but I would imagine someone from BBMF or someone who has perhaps been there this week could confirm.
PS: Met Office is predicting sunny weather for tomorrow a.m (Stansted), max. temp 15c with 13mph wind.
…..
I’d be happy to advertise this type of event on www.warbirdsrestoration.com/news in future

I was there! cheekie ******! And spent my money to support the cause!
For the record I never said that a dodgy engine was fitted to a sea fury and would risk the life of the pilot.
I think its a case of lost in translation!Graham
Hello Graham
You should re-read your own post #26 in the “bradshaw fury sold abroad” thread 21 Sept, 22.30:rolleyes:

I was allways told that the chaps in the Kennet hangar were a fine bunch of lads but having not been there except to visit the market I wouldnt know

So, did GrahamF make it to the event or was he crushed by a rolling engine from Kennet?
Then again maybe he was attacked by the weald aviation guard dog,or even the grumpy blokes in the kennet hangar!

many thanx …..the family took the mick about my camera on a stick!
I had to ask a chap in a fluorescent jacket to ask a bunch of people to politely walk to the back of the aircraft if they wished to ‘chat’ which they did. It is nice when people take notice of us great unwashed!!!

Nice shots, especially the line-up from ground level.
Thank heavens that the world gave us Photoshop at about the same time that it was infected with foul Dayglo jackets 🙂
